We’ve known for a long time that some PS4 users were having problems with their Spotify app on their console, and we’ve compiled a list of remedies for you to try. Spotify may not be working on your PS4 for a variety of reasons. There are a few options, so read on and hopefully you’ll have the music app up and running in no time. In this troubleshooting guide, we’ll teach you how to attempt different methods to fix whatever Spotify problem you’re having. Spotify, like any other software, isn’t flawless, and there are instances when it doesn’t operate on the PS4 console.
Spotify is one of the most popular programmes in the PlayStation Store, with hundreds of thousands of people utilising it on a daily basis. Over the years, there have been a slew of Spotify PS4 faults. Also, if you are using HEN on your PS3 (like me) you don't need to enable HEN to use remote play after changing the PARAM.SFO file, since that is a permanent change to the application file. You’re not alone if you’re having trouble with Spotify on Sony’s last-generation system. But for those people who wanted to listen to Spotify on their PS Vita, I believe this is the closest thing you will get to a solution. If anyone knows how to fix that it would be much appreciated. Still enough for me to use in a pinch though. Netflix also works no problem as well! I also tried YouTube and Crunchyroll, however while they worked fine, they had black borders and stretched the content. Then, after following the instructions, Spotify should be working fine! And this doesn't just work for Spotify as well.
(took me a little bit to find, I checked the date Spotify was installed on the PlayStation by pressing triangle -> information, then matched that to the same time as the folder). The name of the application inside of the game folder on the PS3 is NPEB02222, at least for Australia. Turns out this can be easily circumvented, if your PS3 has HEN or CFW, using This Link. By accessing the Spotify Client through Remote Play, you can then stream Spotify anywhere your vita has WIFI! (I don't believe 3G supports remote play) One small problem though: Spotify is blocked during remote play. So how does it work, you may ask? Well, it utilizes a long forgotten feature of the PS3, PS Remote Play. The biggest downside of that is that you A) can't download music for offline listening (regardless of premium status) and you can't put the vita to sleep while streaming (but it will never sleep in the first place, so as long as you don't put the vita to sleep manually, your all good). First and foremost, this isn't a Spotify client for the PS Vita.
